About Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House | Irvine
Located at 3745 Alton Pkwy, Irvine, CA 92606, Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House | Irvine operates as a hot pot serving Irvine in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 amβ10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. Our server Justin was extremely helpful and knew all the best items on the menu. Very high quality meats and seafood, maybe my new favorite shabu in Irvine. Would recommend 100%

I really enjoyed my first visit at Mikiya - I went on a Wednesday at 4pm. It was a little empty when I arrived but it grew busier around 6pm. The service was great - they were very attentive and helpful with their recommendations since it was my first time. Everything came out very quick, even the appetizers. I ordered from the Diamond set - so we had the A5 wagyu brisket and many other meats. I couldnβt keep track of which was which because we tried a little bit of everything and I loved every bit of it. We also had the seafood platter - I really liked the shrimp and scallops. The broth I had was the spicy miso and sukiyaki. Out of all the appetizers, my favorite was the yellowtail carpaccio - I had to order 2 of those. After that I also enjoyed the sashimi platter and the wagyu tartare. I forgot to take a photo of the wagyu bone marrow. I was really fascinated by the automatic rice dispenser. I liked all the options in the veggie and sauce bars. Everything was very clean and tidy as well. I loved the drink options - I had the grapefruit jasmine green tea and hot tea. I wish I tried their milk tea. I ended the meal with the pineapple ice cream - it was so refreshing.

We absolutely loved our experience at Mikiya! The Diamond tier set included UNLIMITED premium A5 Wagyu and fresh sashimi - it is so unique to experience both in the same package! Not to mention, the wagyu was not only served shabu-shabu style, but also in the form of wagyu nigiri and tartare. The sashimi was also served as mini handrolls and crudo! We also enjoyed the unlimited drinks (Calpico, grapefruit green tea, and milk tea) + the unlimited matcha ice cream. Highly recommend this spot!

For two people, we ordered the highest-tier set menu. The ingredients were better than at chubby cattle although the restaurantβs ambiance wasnβt as good. If choosing an all-you-can-eat place again, Iβd still pick this oneβingredient quality matters more.

My wife and I went to Mikiya for time today. Wife joined the Chubby Club earlier in the day. We got the 1st of 3 tiers for $55.00 per person and then got a $7.00 per person Chubby Club discount - so $48 person after discount. The service was PHENOMENAL ! I do not tip 20% very often; but, they earned it. Mikiya is all you can eat high quality meat. Hot pot style - heated broth / soup served in heated pot built into table -- split in two so one table can have 2 different broths. I chose the tomato based broth which was excellent. The 1st tier has 3 meats, which was all we needed (higher tiers have more selections). Plus you get all the appetizers you want. Also, all you can eat selections on a food bar (rice, veggies, sauces). At 1st tier you get choice of a seafood plate, blood marrow beaf bone and another choice I do not remember, 1 of these per person (at higher tier unlimited). Plus self serve soda and juices. ONE NEGATIVE: Do not order any shelled seafood (such as the seafood appetizer with crab legs and claws) because they do not have shell crackers or the tiny spoon needed to get meat out of the shells. Great place for a special high end meal !
